We will not be accepting scholarship applications for the 2007 year. Due to the increasing cost of legal compliance with sponsoring direct scholarships, First Bankers regrets to annouce that we will no longer provide direct scholarships. First Bankers has changed its Giving Back to those who Give policy and will now provide donations to the scholarship funds set up by the various public safety organizations across the country. We are sad to see that such legal and administrative burdens are placed upon someone simply trying to give something back. We thank the thousands of applicants and the recipients who have received over $40,000 since our scholarship program began 10 years ago. And especially, we wish to thank the millions who put their lives in jeopardy every day to serve their communities.
